Hanif Khan says Pakistan hockey in right direction

Pakistan hockey chief selector Hanif Khan reckons that the country’s hockey team is on the road to regaining its lost glory.

“They are enjoying o.k. particularly when their gold medal at the Asian Games,” Khan, a former Olympian told PPI.

“Their confidence is back and that i feel that we’ll have a powerful outfit within the future”

After observing a coaching camp at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad, Khan together with alternative choice committee members short-listed the preliminary squad of twenty eight players to twenty two players.

“It was tough to chop down the players as there was shut competition amongst players. However, we tend to are attempting to pick out a balanced facet for Azlan Shah Cup keeping in read the 2012 Olympics,” he said.

The next session of coaching would begin on April twenty, and can continue till the departure of the team for twentieth Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, which might be played from might 5-15 in Ipoh, Malaysia.

“I expect an honest result from them within the Azlan Shah Cup,” Khan added.

The chief selector said that the fitness level of players would be crucial and also the main criteria within the choice of the ultimate team.
