Justice Saqib declines to head commission

Supreme Court choose Justice Saqib Nisar, who was appointed head of the commission to probe journalist Saleem Shahzad’s killing, has regretted to go the body.

He said Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry wasn’t consulted for formation of the commission and his nomination as a head of the body, therefore, he said, he wouldn’t be joining it.

Earlier these days, the govt. has issued notification stating that Justice Saqib Nisar would head the commission whose different members embody Justice Agha Rafiq, Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court, further Inspector General (Investigations) Punjab Police, Deputy Inspector General Islamabad Police, and President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Pervez Shaukat.
