Celebrity artist Steven Vaughan unveiled the painting of the royal couple, William and Kate, with an iconic Princess Diana hovering overhead in Los Angeles.
Steven tried his best to make something that would touch the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in a personal way. The idea to create this painting existed long before their visit to Canada. Princess Diana s body is painted over gold leaf in order to create a shimmering look while the halo above her head and the rose in her extended hand are made with metallic paints.
Vaughan said he realized the impact of a mother s death on her son when he came close to losing his own mother. The painting is now on sale at the David W. Streets Gallery in Beverly Hills. The profits from the painting and smaller replicas will go to three different charities.
